President Yoweri Museveni has urged the public to be more vigilant in the face of renewed terror threats to the country.

In his statement on Sunday, Museveni called on people in churches, markets, mosques, bus terminals, hotels, and bars to remain vigilant and be on the lookout for strangers.

He emphasized that this vigilance must be maintained until security forces completely uproot the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which he holds responsible for a series of recent attacks on citizens.

The president’s statement follows the detonation of two Improvised Explosive Devices in Kikubamutwe parish (Kabalagala) and another in Nabweru Kibwa Nassana municipality on Saturday night.

Museveni, however, acknowledged that due to the vigilance of the public and the security forces, the two bombs went off without harming anybody.
