Amidst the celebration of Dorcus Bashema Kirabo, affectionately known as Mama D, for her remarkable achievement in breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest hours ever cooked by an individual, another Ugandan, Ariokot Faith Patricia, is poised to embark on a unique challenge — the quest to break the Guinness World Record for the longest duration of tree-hugging by an individual, aptly named “A Tremendous Hug.”

Ariokot initiated this ambitious endeavour on December 8 of this year. However, an unforeseen setback occurred during her initial attempt when a technical glitch with the camera caused several minutes of the event to be missed.

Undeterred by this setback, Ariokot, driven by a ‘Never Give Up’ spirit, has decided to make another attempt on December 29.

Ariokot Faith Patricia, an environmentalist, firmly believes in the profound significance of every tree and emphasizes the critical importance of environmental conservation.

In her pursuit of this unique world record, Ariokot has reached out to the public, seeking their support and participation to make this remarkable feat possible.

The current record for the longest tree hug is held by Adrienne Long from the United States. She spent an astounding 10 hours and 5 minutes with her arms wrapped around a walnut tree at Heritage Park in Chattanooga’s Brainerd neighbourhood. Long’s feat surpassed the previous tree-hugging record of 8 hours and 15 minutes.

As Ariokot sets her sights on this remarkable challenge, the world eagerly awaits to witness her dedication to environmental conservation and her endeavour to etch her name in the Guinness World Records.
