Lead pastor of the House of Prayer Ministries, Aloysius Bugingo, has, for the first time, spoken about last night’s incident in which gunmen shot at his vehicle while he was heading home.

The incident occurred at Namungona, Rubaga Division, Kampala, at Bwalakata Junction along National Housing Road.

Speaking to journalists at his home in Namayumba, Wakiso District, Bugingo revealed that he survived the assassination attempt by God’s grace, as he didn’t know what to do when bullets started flying into his car.

“God gave me a second chance because when I heard the bullets, I just took cover inside the car,” Bugingo said.

When the sounds of the bullets ceased, Bugingo narrated that he checked on his colleague, Muhumuza Richard, and realized that he was badly injured. This prompted him to drive to Mulago Hospital in an attempt to save his life.

Sadly, Muhumuza succumbed to the bullet wounds upon arrival at Mulago Hospital.

Currently, hundreds of his followers and friends are flocking to his home in Namutumba to check on him, and a special prayer is being organized to thank God for giving him a second chance at life.

“I am now one of the few individuals in our country who have, by God’s grace, survived such an attack by evil people,” he said.
