Police in Bukedea are hunting for two brothers who allegedly hacked their mother and her male friend.

The two have been identified as Onenge Andrew and Opio Ivan, residents of Akaramai village, Kamom parish, in Bukedea district.

According to the police, the incident happened after the mother, Asikeit Melidah, invited her male friend, Omerikol Joseph, to their home on March 20. Their father, Ogwang Isaac, is a teacher, who is always stationed at his workplace.

“When the two siblings returned home at around 10 pm and found their mother and her male friend already sleeping in their father’s house, this angered them,” says the police.

They allegedly picked up pangas and attacked, hacking their mother and her male friend, critically injuring them. The two victims were rushed to Bukedea Health Centre IV for treatment.

“We strongly condemn such acts of violent attacks against biological parents by children. It is a serious abomination. Mothers deserve all the respect from their children, no matter the circumstances,” says the police.

The suspects are now wanted for two counts of Attempted Murder.
