A yet-to-be-identified thug, armed with a panga, has been shot dead in Bongole Zone in Ndejje along Entebbe Road after he forcibly entered the residence of Ayebare Anita, a 25-year-old resident of the same area, and demanded money. The incident occurred this morning around 10:30 am.

Reportedly, the assailant entered the house while the woman was having breakfast with her children and demanded a sum of Shs5 million.

When the woman resisted, he turned his aggression towards her four children: Atuhaire Lucia (2 yrs), Ampaire Maria Zoe (5 yrs), Musiime Blair (7 yrs), and Ankunda Godius (14 yrs).

The commotion attracted the attention of locals who also alerted the police. The assailant was subdued and subsequently died shortly afterward.

The children were rushed to Nalujja Medical Center on Batata Entebbe Road for urgent medical attention. However, their condition remains critical, according to the police.

“The body of the suspect was conveyed to the city mortuary at Mulago for postmortem, as investigations continue with the aim of ascertaining his identity and motive,” said the police.
