The Managing Director of Namboole Stadium, Jamil Ssewanyana, has stated that the newly renovated stadium will not only host sporting events but also weddings, concerts, and conferences.

He explains, however, that weddings and other parties will be held in the halls.

Ssewanyana says that this move is intended to raise money to facilitate the maintenance of the facility.

“We have a maintenance plan for this facility. We have acquired equipment for maintaining the playing surface,” he said.

Namboole Stadium, which has been under renovation since February 2022, will host two Uganda Premier League (UPL) fixtures tomorrow. These matches are part of the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) requirements before granting permission for the stadium to host international games.

Title contenders BUL and Vipers SC will face off at 4 pm, while record champions SC Villa, who are also still in the title race, will play against KCCA FC at 7 pm. The entrance fees for both games are Shs10k (General) and Shs50k for VIP.

Namboole is now a smart stadium, as fans will access it with digitally purchased tickets.
