Following its historic all-black cast debut at the Serena Hotel last week, the spotlight shifts to the National Theatre as anticipation mounts for the theatre debut of “The Phantom of the Opera,” poised to grace the stage tomorrow, Friday, May 10th.

The memory of that glamorous evening lingers vividly in the minds of all who attended. Not only was it a monumental occasion marking the first-ever presentation of this classic play with an all-black cast, but it was also a spectacle of mesmerizing masked glamour, with theatre enthusiasts showcasing their finest attire.

Presented as part of the Guinness Bright House Arts edition, “The Phantom of the Opera” promises an unforgettable experience at the National Theatre, with performances every Friday through Sunday. Fridays will feature a single evening show, while Saturdays and Sundays will boast two captivating performances each.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Roy Ronald Tumwizere, Brand Manager of Guinness Uganda, remarked, “We are excited to be bringing the Phantom of the Opera to the National Theatre, I cannot tell you how proud we are as Guinness to have collaborated with Timeless Arts on this one, it has been historic and has proven yet again that collaboration goes a long way in creating platforms and spaces for creatives to flourish which is exactly what the Guinness Bright House is all about,” said Tumwizere.

Karen Hasahya, CEO of Timeless Arts, echoed Tumwizere’s sentiments, urging Ugandans to rally behind their local artists and the vibrant arts scene.

“I am so proud that we managed to stage such a classic something that I believe was made possible because of Collaboration. Staging the Phantom of the Opera for me has shown that with collaboration, commitment and creativity we can do anything as Ugandan creatives. Let’s show our support for Ugandan art and creatives by filling the National Theatre with our presence,” she urged.

Tickets for this extraordinary theatrical event are priced at Shs50,000, offering audiences the opportunity to immerse themselves in the magic of “The Phantom of the Opera” from May 10th to the 26th.
