Police have arrested Savior Guma, a 19-year-old student of the Uganda Institute of Information and Communication Technology, after he was filmed boasting about using his IT skills to hack into stolen phones and other devices and change serial numbers to evade tracking, charging a fee for this service.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango told journalists that the suspect and his alleged accomplice confessed to recording the video but claimed it was only meant to generate views and likes on social media, specifically TikTok.
