Police in Kiboga district have taken two school directors into custody in connection with the murder of a teacher and her one-year-old child.

Bruno Ddamulira and Gladys Nakalyango, directors of Spring of Wisdom Primary school, are being held in connection with the deaths of Noeline Nabwenjje, 26, a teacher at the school, and her son, Jonan Gayel.

According to reports, unknown assailants attacked Nabwenjje’s rented room in Kyanja cell, Kiboga town council, on the night of June 30. They hacked her multiple times in the throat, killing her instantly. The attackers then turned on her one-year-old son, hacking him severely on the head and face, also killing him instantly.

The assailants fled the scene, leaving the victims’ bodies locked inside the house. The residents became suspicious when the pair failed to wake up the next morning and forced open the door to find them lying in a pool of blood.

Police were alerted and swiftly responded to the crime scene. Racheal Kawala, Wamala region police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and stated that two people were arrested on Monday to aid in investigations.
