Watu Credit Uganda organized a successful blood donation drive as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The event, held on Friday at the company’s Call Center and Ndeeba Branch, aimed to encourage voluntary blood donation and highlight the importance of community support in saving lives.

In collaboration with the Uganda Blood Transfusion Services, the drive saw an overwhelming response, with over 80 people donating blood, contributing a total of 100 units.

“This initiative is about more than saving lives; it’s a testament to our commitment to enhancing safety measures and supporting those impacted by boda boda accidents. We are deeply thankful to our staff and community members who heeded our call to donate,” said Armands Supstiks, Deputy Country Manager.

The donated blood can potentially save up to 300 lives, providing critical support to hospitals and emergency services.

Supstiks expressed his appreciation for the support received during the drive, stating, “We are immensely grateful to everyone who participated in our blood donation drive. It’s inspiring to witness our team and community come together for such a vital cause. This event underscores our commitment to CSR and our dedication to supporting the communities in which we operate.”

As Watu Credit Uganda celebrates its fifth anniversary this July, the company reflects on its significant contributions to the community and its achievements, including financing over 150,000 motorcycles and issuing over 60,000 smartphone loans, positively impacting the lives of almost a million Ugandans.
