Singer Lil Pazo Lunabe real name Mukasa Yasin, has been taken to court for plagiarizing the late Kato Lubwama’s song “Kilabe Ebiso”.

This week, Lil Pazo Lunabe released a remake of the song, titled “Irene”, which he dedicated to fellow singer Irene Ntale.

However, his actions sparked outrage on social media, with many music lovers criticizing him for redoing the late Kato Lubwama’s song without permission.

In response, the late Kato Lubwama’s family, through their legal representatives Maldes Advocates, issued a public legal document addressing the issue.

According to the document, Kato Lubwama was the original composer of the song “Kilabe Ebiiso” and held the copyright. The family has demanded that Lil Pazo immediately remove the infringing song from all media platforms, issue a formal apology, and publicize the apology on all platforms where the song is being played. Additionally, they are seeking damages of Shs 300 million and costs totaling Shs 20 million.

Lil Pazo has been given 14 days to comply with these demands, failing which the family has threatened to institute legal proceedings against him without further notice.
