Kitara’s continental journey came to an end in the first preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup, following a 6-4 aggregate defeat to Al Hilal Benghazi.

The Ugandan side suffered a 3-2 loss in the second leg, mirroring the scoreline from the first leg. Mohamed Salim put the Libyan team ahead in the first half, before Hemeya Tany’s brace in the second half sealed the win.

Titus Ssematimba and Denis Omedi scored Kitara’s two goals. Al Hilal Benghazi advanced to the second preliminary round, where they’ll face Egypt’s Al Masry. Kitara will now focus on the domestic season, set to kick off in September.
