Police in Mubende District are searching for a man accused of killing another man, whom he allegedly found having sex with his wife in their marital home on Saturday at around 9 p.m. The incident occurred in Ngowa LC1, Katente Parish, Kiyuni Subcounty, Mubende District.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Racheal Kawala, the Wamala Region police spokesperson, explained that the suspect, Mutatina Khalisiti, allegedly caught Ignitious Nyansiyo, also known as Muhwezi, in a compromising situation with his wife.

“Khalisiti, a distant lumber worker in Kagadi District, spends most of his time away from home. It is alleged that Nyansiyo (the deceased) had been having an affair with the suspect’s wife,” Kawala said.

It is said that on Saturday night, around 9 p.m., the suspect (Khalisiti) unexpectedly returned home and found Nyansiyo in bed with his wife. He allegedly stabbed Nyansiyo to death with a knife. After the stabbing, both Khalisiti and his wife fled the scene.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found Nyansiyo’s body on Khalisiti’s bed.

“His body has been taken to Mubende Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice,” Kawala stated.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue their search for Khalisiti and his wife.
