ITHUBA Uganda shines at African Marketing Confederation Awards 2024

ITHUBA Uganda, the official operator of the Uganda National Lottery, has achieved remarkable recognition by winning three prestigious awards at the African Marketing Confederation Awards 2024.

The company’s innovative “Billionz Zizino” thematic campaign was celebrated for its creativity and effectiveness. The awards ceremony, held over the weekend in Mombasa, honoured top marketing teams and brands from across Africa. ITHUBA Uganda’s PowerBall Billionz Zizino campaign earned the following accolades:

  • SILVER – Best Social Media Campaign of the Year: This award highlights the campaign’s significant impact and engagement on social media platforms, showcasing ITHUBA Uganda’s digital marketing expertise.
  • BRONZE – Campaign of the Year: This esteemed award recognizes the most outstanding marketing effort of the year, demonstrating ITHUBA’s innovative approach to lottery marketing.
  • BRONZE – Best Use of Local Insights: This accolade underscores the campaign’s success in harnessing local culture and consumer behavior, fostering meaningful connections with audiences.

Michelle Van Trotsenburg, Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at ITHUBA Uganda, expressed her enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to receive these honors, which reflect our commitment to creativity and our mission to establish a seamless National Lottery. Through dynamic visuals, strategic partnerships with local influencers, and engaging activations, we’ve developed a campaign that resonates with Ugandans. The results are evident, with over Shs 2.5 billion awarded to winners across all divisions and an increase in retailer acquisitions from 350 to over 820 agents. This campaign has truly transformed our lottery operations in just four months.”

The versatile campaign also adapts seamlessly across various lottery games, such as “Millionz Zizino” for SPORTSTAKE 10 and DAILY LOTTO.

The African Marketing Confederation Awards celebrate marketing excellence across the continent, with this year’s finalists showcasing standout brands from Kenya and Uganda. ITHUBA Uganda’s achievements are a testament to the dedication and hard work of its marketing team.
