Bell ObaFest 2024: Uganda Breweries partners with Coca Cola and Safe Boda for a sustainable, responsible festival

Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), through its flagship beer Bell Lager, has announced sustainability partners for this year’s Bell ObaFest.

Coca Cola has been named the official hydration partner, while Safe Boda will provide transportation solutions, ensuring a smooth and safe experience for attendees.

The three-day beer festival is scheduled for October 18th to 20th at Jahazi Pier, Munyonyo.

The partnership is part of UBL’s ongoing commitment to its 10-year sustainability plan, “Society 2030: Spirit of Progress,” which aims to make measurable contributions to 13 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As part of this initiative, UBL is focusing on conducting business ethically by promoting inclusivity, diversity, and responsible practices.

At the festival, this will be reflected through collaboration with organizations such as Light for the World and efforts to curb drunk driving.

Lillian Kansiime, Brand Manager for Bell Lager at Uganda Breweries, explained the importance of sustainability and responsible consumption during a press briefing.

“As a business, Uganda Breweries is committed towards promoting sustainable business practices within the environment it operates. Throughout the three-day celebration, this commitment will be reflected through enabling responsible drinking and encouraging moderation as a means of addressing harmful use of alcohol through the partnership with Coca Cola Beverages Uganda and Safe Boda,” Kansiime stated.

The festival is expected to draw over 20,000 attendees, offering a range of beer-related activities while also driving social impact.

While handing over a Shs10 million and 100 cartons of drinking water contribution towards this year’s Bell ObaFest, Fiona kemigisha, the Ag. Channel & Trade Marketing Manager Coca Cola Beverage Uganda noted that CCBU is driven by actively encouraging informed choices and balanced lifestyles for their consumers and this partnership is a testament towards this commitment as the official hydration
partner at the Bell ObaFest.

“This partnership is a testament to our commitment as the official hydration partner at Bell ObaFest,” she noted.

Safe Boda’s representative, Calvin Mukooli, shared that they would be offering discounted and secure rides throughout the festival, ensuring safe transportation for all attendees.

In addition, Bell ObaFest will continue its partnership with Asante Waste Management to maintain proper waste management during and after the event, reinforcing the festival’s commitment to sustainability.
