Equity Bank’s Managing Director, Anthony Kituuka, is set to embark on a special visit to Dubai, reflecting the bank’s ongoing commitment to its global clientele.

The visit follows several weeks of tailored service by Equity Bank staff in Dubai, aimed at strengthening ties with Ugandan expatriates and the broader customer base in the UAE.

Kituuka is expected to build on this groundwork, enhancing the personal touch that has become synonymous with the bank.

“We have heard your call,” Kituuka remarked ahead of his departure on Thursday. “Equity is more than just a financial institution. It’s about connecting with our customers, understanding their needs, and supporting them wherever they are. I’m joining the incredible team that has already been working diligently with our customers in the UAE.”

Over the past two weeks, the Equity Bank team in Dubai has provided personalized services, helping customers reactivate accounts, open new ones, and access key financial tools such as ATM cards. They’ve also facilitated seamless connections to mobile and online banking platforms, ensuring clients stay financially active even while abroad.

Laura Bahemuka, Equity Bank’s Head of Micro Segment, currently stationed in Dubai, noted the overwhelmingly positive feedback from customers. “Our clients have expressed immense gratitude for the personalized support and for resolving long-standing issues. It’s a testament to how much a personal touch can make a difference.”

Kituuka’s visit will kick off with a keynote address at the prestigious Smart Minds Business Conference on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Dubai Royal Pillar Events Auditorium. His speech, eagerly anticipated by leading entrepreneurs and business executives, will focus on building successful enterprises in Uganda and the broader African market. He will also highlight the role of strategic partnerships in driving sustainable growth.

“For me, speaking at such an event isn’t just part of my professional responsibility; it’s a personal mission,” said Kituuka. “Equity Bank’s ethos is rooted in financial inclusion and fostering business growth. I’m excited to share our vision and how we can be a catalyst for expanding wealth across Africa.”

Kituuka will also be a prominent speaker at the 3rd Annual Uganda-UAE Business Forum on Thursday, October 31, 2024, engaging directly with investors from both the public and private sectors, as well as Ugandans running businesses in Dubai.

Beyond the formal events, Kituuka is set to host informal gatherings with Ugandans living in Dubai, particularly Equity Bank clients, offering a unique opportunity for direct interaction.

“Equity is your trusted partner. We believe in listening to our customers and responding to their needs. This session is about strengthening those personal connections and understanding how we can further support our customers,” he added.

This Dubai engagement follows closely on the heels of Equity Bank’s successful hosting of the India-Uganda Trade Mission, which attracted key investors from India. Over the two-day event, Ugandan businesses held strategic discussions with Indian counterparts, paving the way for significant new investments.

Equity Bank’s consistent outreach to its global customers demonstrates how financial institutions can effectively serve clients across borders. Whether in the UAE, the UK, or the US, the bank is ensuring that its customers, no matter where they are, always feel connected and supported.

In September, Equity Bank also extended its services to customers in the UK and US, reaffirming its position as a truly global institution that champions the financial prosperity of its people worldwide.
