Lady Luck has smiled on two passionate football fans, Jonan Kato and Didas Akampa, who will soon be flying to the UK to watch a Premier League game live, courtesy of Guinness! The two are the first winners of the ultimate Matchday prize: an all-expenses-paid trip to the UK, won through the thrilling Guinness Matchday Experience, a series of live football viewing events curated by Guinness to bring fans closer to the game they love.

The lucky pair earned their tickets on Sunday night by entering the Guinness Matchday Minutes Draw that was held at Tales in Bukoto.

“I’m beyond excited to be heading to the UK to watch a Premier League game live!” exclaimed Kato. “I was sitting with my friends and boldly predicted that Arsenal would concede a goal around the 71st minute. And, as if fate was on my side, they conceded in the 70th minute! I couldn’t believe my luck when I still made it into the draw and ended up winning the big prize,” he added, beaming with excitement.

Rogers Kasozi, Guinness Brand Manager, expressed his excitement at being able to create such memorable experiences for football fans, remarking on the brand’s commitment to connecting with its consumers through their shared passions.

“It’s every football fan’s dream to experience a Premier League match live, and it’s so rewarding to bring that dream to life for our winners tonight,” said Kasozi. “We’re proud to give back to the fans who’ve embraced Guinness Matchdays, and we’ve planned an incredible trip for these guys. We can’t wait to see more fans win big, too!”

Guinness Matchdays are epic live viewing experiences where football fans gather to catch all the Premier League action on massive screens with perfect sound, expert punditry, and of course, ice-cold Guinness. Each Matchday offers the chance to enter the “Matchday Minutes Draw” and win a trip to watch a Premier League game in the UK, creating the ultimate atmosphere for die-hard fans. “And this is just the beginning,” added Kasozi. “Next, we’re taking the Matchday Experience upcountry, heading west to Mbarara and north to Gulu in the coming weeks, where even more fans will have the chance to win a trip to the Premier League!”
