The story of Diphas Kansiime is one of excitement, disbelief, and a dream come true. It was a quiet Sunday night when Diphas received an unexpected call. He was informed that he had won the ultimate football fan prize, a once-in-a-lifetime trip to watch a Premier League game live in the UK!

“At first, I didn’t believe it,” Diphas admitted. “I thought it was just another scam call. But when I received a follow-up call the next morning, it started to sink in. It’s always been my dream to watch a Premier League game live, and I can’t believe it’s actually happening. Luck was truly on my side!”

The call that Diphas initially dismissed as a scam was made by none other than veteran sports journalist Andrew Kabuura, the official host of the Guinness Matchday experience during a live screening that took place on Sunday at Tales Lounge, Bukoto. The only lucky winner in attendance, Jonan Kato, was equally overwhelmed when his number came up during the draw.

“The emotions I felt were overwhelming,” Jonan shared. “I’ve traveled a lot, but I’ve never been to the UK. Winning an all-expenses-paid trip to watch the Premier League live; nothing beats that!”

Earlier today, the road to London officially kicked off with an official hand over engagement where the lucky winners got to meet the brand team and speak to the media about their plans for the UK.

Guinness Brand Manager Rogers Kasozi emphasised how much the brand values creating unforgettable moments for football fans across Uganda.

“We’re beyond excited to see our vision come to life,” Kasozi said. “This is exactly what the Guinness Matchday experience is all about; giving our consumers the chance to not only celebrate their favourite teams but also live out their wildest dreams.”

He added, “And this is just the beginning! We’re heading to Mbarara and Gulu next week, on the 23rd. So, if you’re a football fan, come join us! You might just be the next person to win a ticket to watch the Premier League live.”

The Guinness Matchday experiences have become the go-to events for football enthusiasts, offering epic live screenings of Premier League games with massive screens, expert punditry, and, of course, ice-cold Guinness. Each Matchday includes the thrilling “Matchday Minutes Draw,” where fans have a chance to win a trip to the UK to watch their favourite teams play live, turning dreams into reality for die-hard fans.

It’s official Diphas and Jonan are now on the road to London, ready to witness the Premier League magic firsthand, all thanks to Guinness.
