Police in Nasana conducted an intelligence-led operation in Kyebando village, targeting a notorious panga-wielding gang that has been terrorizing Kampala and its surrounding areas.

The operation resulted in the arrest of Kakeeto Imran, who, during interrogation, disclosed the identities of other gang members. This led to the arrest of five individuals identified as Manaishimwe Emable, aged 23; Nyweza Aaron, aged 20; Muyingo Mike, aged 24; Agaba Godfrey, aged 18; and Mutebi John, aged 17. All the suspects are boda boda riders and residents of Kyebando Kabulengwa.

During the operation, police recovered two motorcycles (registration numbers UGG 375G and UFC 613N) and six mobile phones.

The suspects confessed to targeting individuals with valuables, using various motorcycles and employing pangas, hammers, and other tools to break into properties during their operations.

Their most recent known attack occurred in Bukuya, Kasanda District, where they robbed and assaulted victims using pangas.

The police are continuing investigations to apprehend and prosecute other associates, including the prime suspect, identified only as Sserugo, who remains at large.
