The third edition of the Johnnie Walker Sip Over events unfolded in spectacular fashion last evening, as Johnnie Walker brand influencer- Rebecca Nanjego, hosted and treated her close friends to an enchanting Friendsgiving dinner.

Nanjego hosted 20 of her closest friends at Mediterraneo Restaurant in Kololo, at an intimate evening of gratitude, fine dining, and festive cheer.

Hosted under the theme ‘gratitude and appreciation,’ Nanjego’s guests adhered to the ‘glamorous black-and-gold’ dress code, paying homage to the iconic Johnnie Walker Black Label.

The seemingly trendy and fashionable group dined on a curated menu, that featured delectable dishes including Beef Stroganoff, Chicken Toscana, Tilapia Basiland Lasagne Vegeteriana, paired with the smooth and timeless flavours of Johnnie Walker.

Host of the evening Rebecca Nanjego.

During the dinner, Nanjego shared a heartwarming message of gratitude, for the love and support her friends have offered her over the years. “Tonight is a celebration of the amazing people in my life. Friends who have loved and supported me unconditionally. You guys are a constant reminder of how blessed I am, and I am forever grateful. This was my way of showing you all how much you mean to me, and I am overwhelmed by the love you keep showing me. Thank you very much,” she said.

The evening also featured an enlightening mentorship session by Preston Okot, who introduced guests to the different portfolios and flavour profiles of Johnnie Walker.

Okot took the group through the bold and smoky Black Label, the creamy richness of Gold Label Reserve, and much more about the Johnnie Walker catalogue.

The engaging whisky mentorship helped guests deepen their appreciation for the iconic global celebratory whisky.

The mentorship was a first for most of the attendees, and they seemed truly blown away by the new learnings about the different tastes, insights into whisky blending, and tips on how to pair flavours with meals and special moments.

Christine Kyokunda, the Johnnie Walker Brand Manager remarked; “This Friendsgiving was both a celebration of people in Rebecca’s life, and a reminder of the joy of giving back during this festive season. The Sip Over Johnnie Walker series is all about creating memorable experiences, and we’re thrilled to be part of such moments that bring our consumers closer to each other, with Johnnie Walker at the centre of the celebrations.”

Adding a soothing touch to the evening, John Paul the Pianist, serenaded guests with a blend of popular instrumentals like, Perfect by Ed Sheeran, Faded by Alan Walker, and Love You Every Day by Bebe Cool, as well as his own soulful compositions.

In the true spirit of the season, Nanjego gifted her friends with bottles of Johnnie Walker, as tokens of appreciation.

Additionally, each guest walked away with curated goodie packages, further cementing the evening as one to remember.

With the festive season upon us, Johnnie Walker is deliberate about making gifting more special, with its personalized gifting studio at Village Mall.

The gifting studio opened a couple of weeks back, and will stay open all through the Christmas season, till end of month.
