Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has won the prestigious 2024 FIFA Puskás Award for his breathtaking bicycle kick against Everton. The Argentine’s sensational strike, scored in November 2023 at Goodison Park, was recognized as the best goal in world football for the year.

Garnacho claimed the award with 26 points, beating Yassine Benzia’s impressive goal against South Africa, which came in second place.

Ugandan forward Denis Omedi, representing Kitara FC and the Uganda Cranes, secured third place with 16 points for his audacious Rabona strike against KCCA FC in the FUFA Super 8 tournament. Omedi’s goal was also nominated for the CAF Goal of the Year, where he finished sixth. The CAF accolade was ultimately awarded to Angola’s Cristóvão Mabululu.
