A security guard attached to Ryayo Security Group Ltd. has shot dead two of his colleagues before killing himself. The incident happened last evening at around 9 p.m. at Shumuk Aluminium Ltd., Nakawa Division.

Preliminary police findings indicate that a security guard, Machugayi Emmanuel, accessed a firearm from a colleague and, without provocation, shot two fellow security guards: Kakyebezi Ashiraf, aged 21 years, and Owechi Stephen.

Following the attack, the suspect retreated and later turned the gun on himself after reportedly realizing he was surrounded by security forces.

The investigating team also recovered two rifles and several cartridges. Eyewitness statements were recorded from the first responding security officers at the scene.

Police say the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
