A life-altering moment unfolded in Mitooma District when Susan Kyokusiima, a dedicated farmer and bar owner, experienced a remarkable turnaround after winning Shs50 million in the Uganda Breweries Laga Swagga Campaign. Initially, Susan had entered the campaign with modest hopes of winning some airtime, but the reality of being crowned the grand prize winner left her completely stunned.

“The Shs50 million has allowed me to grow my business and invest in land for farming. I now have a banana plantation, coffee, beans, groundnuts, and millet, and I’ve also bought crossbreed cows for grazing. This money has opened new doors for me and my family. I was even able to enroll my children in better schools and renovate my house to the standard I always dreamed of. Uganda Breweries has truly uplifted me.”

Ken Amanyire, Uganda Breweries Limited District Representative, spoke at the event about the larger impact of the Laga Swagga Campaign. Over 1 million consumers across Uganda participated, with the campaign distributing a total of Shs 1 billion in prizes. “Laga Swagga was about more than just winning; it was about transforming lives,” Amanyire emphasized.

“Susan’s story is a powerful example of our commitment to empowering consumers. We’re incredibly proud of how she has used her prize to grow her business and secure her future.”

The Laga Swagga Campaign, aimed at rewarding loyal consumers of Uganda Waragi, Bond 7, V&A, and Gilbeys, highlighted Uganda Breweries’ ongoing dedication to celebrating and uplifting the people who have supported its brands.

Susan’s story serves as a powerful reminder of how Uganda Breweries actively promotes its brands to uplift, empower, and celebrate Ugandans, positively impacting the communities it serves. This is particularly significant as Uganda Waragi celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
