The Electoral Commission has called on Ugandans who have yet to register or update their voter details to do so as the National Voters’ Register Update Exercise ends today, February 17, 2025.

Julius Mucunguzi, the EC spokesperson, says that even today, the exercise will be conducted at the parish level from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

He states that many Ugandans have embraced the exercise despite the challenges faced since its commencement on January 20.

Over 360,000 new voters have been added to the National Voters’ Register, while 292,021 applications for transfers have been made.

The ongoing extension of the exercise is intended to ensure that all eligible but unregistered voters complete their registration.

The extension began on Tuesday, February 11, and will conclude today, Monday, February 17, 2025.

Mucunguzi said the next step will be compiling all the collected information ahead of the National Voters’ Register Display Exercise in April.

As of February 10, the National Voters’ Register stood at 19,925,574 voters, up from 18,103,603 voters registered for the 2020/2021 General Elections.
