dfcu Bank has extended a helping hand to over 200 underprivileged families in the Kasokoso and Katanga slums through a Ramadan food drive in partnership with the Ayitah Charity Foundation.

With a Shs30 million contribution from the bank, the initiative aimed to provide essential nourishment and relief, embodying the values of generosity and empathy that define the holy month.

Over the next few weeks, more families across the country will receive packs that include sugar, rice, posho, beans, cooking oil, and laundry soap.

“Ramadan is a time of reflection, unity, and giving,” said Maureen Nagasha, Communications & Events Manager at dfcu Bank. “True corporate leadership is about impact beyond financial services. This initiative reflects our deep commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities and making a tangible difference where it matters most.”

Sophia Nyanzi, CEO of the Ayitah Charity Foundation, expressed appreciation for dfcu Bank’s unwavering support, highlighting that over 1,500 lives have been positively impacted by the foundation’s efforts over the years.
