Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of House of Prayer Ministries International has informed his congregation that they are still far from achieving their long-awaited construction of the mega ‘Pentagon’ church due to a lack of funds.

For years, Bugingo has rallied his followers to contribute towards the ambitious project, with many believers donating in hopes of seeing the foundation laid.

However, during a recent sermon, the pastor admitted that they are not financially ready to even begin the foundation.

Bugingo explained that after assessing the situation with his committee, they concluded that the money raised so far is nowhere near sufficient.

Initially, in 2019, they estimated that the project would require Shs100 billion, but with inflation and rising costs, that figure has now increased to Shs120 billion.

“It’s impossible to lay the foundation with less than a tenth of the required budget,” Bugingo stated.

“Contractors demand a 30% deposit, which amounts to 30 billion. Unfortunately, we have not even raised 7 billion, which isn’t enough to bring materials to the site.”

The Pentagon project has been a hot topic in the media, with Bugingo consistently updating his followers on fundraising efforts and construction progress.

However, his latest announcement has triggered a wave of reactions online, with many netizens mocking the stalled project, especially on social media.
