Uganda Airlines has secured over 500 bookings for its London Gatwick route, which is scheduled to launch on May 18, with flights operating four times a week between Entebbe International Airport and London Gatwick.

Bookings have been confirmed well into December 2025 and even extending into 2026, according to Jennifer Bamuturaki, CEO of Uganda Airlines.

“We have had over 500 bookings ticketed from the time we announced the route to now. London is a very mature market; Europe is a mature market. We have bookings that go as far down as December 2025; we even have 2026 bookings,” said Bamuturaki.

A lot of the bookings, she said, are for the return flights from London to Entebbe, which are being booked with credit cards and have already been paid for.

The average price for one-way flights from Entebbe to London, United Kingdom, is Shs1,619,558. The average price for round-trip flights from Entebbe to London, United Kingdom, is Shs2,714,155.

Uganda Airlines is the national carrier for Uganda, which was re-established in 2018 and started operating in 2019 with two planes but has now grown to have six aircraft that fly to about 20 destinations.

Some of these routes include Bujumbura, Dar es Salaam, Dubai, Johannesburg, Juba, Kilimanjaro, Kinshasa, Lagos, Mogadishu, Mombasa, Mumbai, Nairobi, Zanzibar, Lusaka, Abuja, Harare, and now London.
