Police at Kira Road have arrested a suspected serial robber believed to be behind a string of violent robberies along the Northern Bypass and its surrounding areas.

The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Gideon Matwa, a resident of Kazinga Zone in Kiwatule Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala, was apprehended following a tip-off from one of his recent victims.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango, Matwa allegedly ambushed and robbed a businessman near the fish ponds in Kazinga Zone. The victim gave chase and alerted police, who responded swiftly with support from UPDF personnel and arrested Matwa shortly after.
