Ugandan-English talent Divine Mukasa has been named Players’ Player of the Season at Manchester City’s annual academy awards.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has had an impressive campaign in the U18 Premier League, registering 16 goals and 15 assists in just 20 games.
In September last year, Mukasa signed his first professional contract with Manchester City, just a year after joining the club from West Ham.
Reports indicate that Mukasa, a left-footed player with outstanding technical ability, has been impressive since then. His game intelligence and calm demeanour are said to allow him to make smart decisions under pressure, earning him admiration from top clubs.
Born in England to Laima Mukasa, an Englishwoman, and Sam Mukasa, his Ugandan father, Divine Mukasa has represented England at the U15, U17, and U18 levels, though he remains eligible to play for England, Uganda, or Lithuania at the senior level.
