Tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia has distanced himself from a fraudulent account impersonating him on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the chairman of the Ruparelia Group made it clear that he has no official presence on the platform. The warning comes after a number of misleading posts surfaced from an account using the handle @RupareliaSudhi, falsely claiming to represent him.
“I do not operate any account on X,” Ruparelia emphasized. “Any messages or posts coming from that account are fake and should be ignored.”
He urged the public to remain vigilant, avoid engaging with the impersonator, and report the account to X administrators for immediate removal.

The fake profile has reportedly been active for several weeks, posting content that could easily be mistaken for genuine communication from the Ugandan business magnate.
Ruparelia, 69, is one of Uganda’s most influential entrepreneurs, with a diversified investment portfolio spanning banking, insurance, real estate, hospitality, education, media, and agriculture. According to Forbes and other financial outlets, his estimated net worth stands at $1.2 billion, placing him among the wealthiest individuals in the country.
