With Father’s Day, slated for this Sunday, June 15th, Johnnie Walker is raising a glass to the unsung heroes who have shown resilience, determination, and unwavering strength; our fathers.

Through a heartfelt new campaign dubbed “A Note to Dad,” Johnnie Walker is inviting Ugandans to honour the incredible men who have kept walking, no matter the odds.

“A Note to Dad” is Johnnie Walker’s 2025 Father’s Day tribute, a call for sons, daughters, and whisky lovers across the country, to share letters that capture the remarkable journeys of the fathers who inspire them. Whether it’s a story of sacrifice, triumph, love, or perseverance, Johnnie Walker wants to shine a light on the powerful legacies’ fathers build every day.

The campaign officially kicks off today and will run until Father’s Day on Sunday.

Speaking about the initiative, Christine Kyokunda, the Brand Manager Scotch & Reserve at Uganda Breweries Limited, underscored the significance of honouring fathers and their enduring journeys.

“At Johnnie Walker, we are driven by a spirit of progress, and very few people embody that spirit more than the fathers who show up every day, pushing forward for their families, communities, and dreams,” said Kyokunda. “With A Note to Dad, we want to celebrate these everyday heroes by spotlighting the powerful, personal stories that often go untold. It’s our way of saying thank you and helping their children honour them in a truly meaningful way.”

How it Works:

Johnnie Walker is calling on whisky lovers and the public at large to pen short, heartfelt notes/ letters to their fathers, highlighting the special things they did to ensure their families, children get the best life. The notes will celebrate the fathers’ resilience, sacrifices, and the journeys they’ve walked. Whether it’s a tale of quiet strength, unwavering love, or overcoming adversity, humorous, or reflective, every story matters.

A selection of the most powerful letters will be brought to life on NBS TV, giving Ugandans a front-row seat to the emotional and inspiring stories of fatherhood.

Come Sunday- Fathers’ Day, Johnnie Walker will reward the fathers of the authors of the most impactful letters with personalised Johnnie Walker whisky bottles, a meaningful keepsake to honour and toast to their fathers.

To participate:

  • Write a heartfelt note to your dad, celebrating how he has kept walking, through life’s challenges, milestones, and moments that matter.
  • Share your letter on your social media platforms, tag NBS TV and Johnnie Walker, and also include the hashtag #aToastToDad, #KeepWalking
  • Tune in to NBS TV to hear the most moving letters read live, and find out if you’re one of the lucky winners of a personalised Johnnie Walker gift for your dad.

This Father’s Day, let your words be the gift. Celebrate the man who’s always kept walking, through every high and low, every joy and challenge. Join Johnnie Walker in raising a glass to the fathers who lead with love, strength, and quiet determination.
