Mawerere Isaac Doka is not just a name on the ballot—he is a vibrant force for youth empowerment, mental health advocacy, and grassroots transformation in Eastern Uganda. A dynamic entrepreneur and dedicated community leader, Mawerere is contesting for the position of Youth Member of Parliament (Eastern Uganda) with a clear purpose: to be a genuine voice for the voiceless.
Rooted in the East, Driven by Purpose
Born and raised in Kamuli District, Mawerere’s upbringing was steeped in the values of resilience, service, and community. His education began at Bupadhengo Primary School before he moved to Merryland High School Entebbe for his O-Level studies. He later completed his A-Levels at Hilton High School in Mukono.
He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Community Psychology and Mental Health from Makerere University—a foundation that continues to shape his approach to public service and advocacy, particularly around issues affecting youth mental health.
A Career Built on Service and Impact
Professionally, Mawerere has cultivated a multifaceted career that spans entrepreneurship, corporate service, and agriculture. He is currently the Managing Director of Miles Funeral Services, a company offering dignified funeral support while creating employment opportunities for young people.
A firm believer in agriculture as a vehicle for youth empowerment, Mawerere is also a practicing commercial farmer—actively engaged in coffee farming and livestock rearing. His ventures are a testament to his belief that the youth can thrive through enterprise, innovation, and access to practical skills.
From 2022 to 2023, he served as the Executive Assistant to the Managing Director at Uganda Railways Corporation, a role he fulfilled with excellence. He later resigned to dedicate himself fully to community engagement, youth development, and business.
Leadership in Action

Mawerere’s passion for leadership traces back to his university days. In 2019, he declared his bid for the Makerere University Guild Presidency. Although the race was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, it solidified his belief in transformational leadership grounded in service, not self-interest.
His current campaign for Youth MP is defined by action-oriented priorities: strengthening education systems, promoting mental health awareness, supporting youth entrepreneurship, generating employment, and restoring credibility in political leadership.
Why He Stands Out
What makes Mawerere Isaac Doka a standout candidate is not just his credentials, but his lived experience. He relates to the struggles of young Ugandans because he has lived them—navigating limited opportunities, overcoming systemic barriers, and finding ways to give back to the community.
His candidacy is not about politics as usual—it’s a mission shaped by empathy, integrity, and vision. With a relatable story, hands-on experience, and a track record of leadership, Mawerere is positioning himself as a true representative of Eastern Uganda’s youth—ready to speak for them, fight for them, and work with them to build a better future.
