A security guard attached to Ultimate Security Limited has shot and killed two colleagues at the company’s offices in Mbuya before police shot him dead.

The victims have been identified as Noella Zella, an Assistant Human Resource Officer, and Bwampata Salez, the company’s Armory Officer, while the shooter has been identified as Mwaawa Richard.

Reports indicate that Mwaawa, who is alleged to have been demanding unpaid salary for months after being sacked, stormed the offices around 9:00 AM and opened fire—first killing Zella before turning the weapon on Salez.

Residents in the neighborhood are said to have called Jinja Road Police Station and reported the incident. The officers arrived at the scene and shot Mwaawa dead as he allegedly posed a threat.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, confirmed the incident, saying the police recovered the firearm used. He added that all three bodies were transported to City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem examinations.

He also said that detectives are still investigating what motivated the shooting.
