With less than two months to go, the countdown is on for the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon, happening August 23 in Kasese and so is the final sprint to grab the early bird discount before it disappears!

For just Shs50,000 for Ugandans and East Africans and $50 for international runners, you can lock in your slot for the fourth edition of the most anticipated marathon in the country. These rates end on July 1, and after that, prices go up.

If you haven’t started training yet, now’s the time. Many seasoned runners are already clocking kilometres through weekly running clubs like Team Matooke, Marcos, Gutsy Bunch, Fast and Furious, and Kampala Hash House Harriers.

You can train solo or tap into the motivation of a running community; either way, the key is to get moving now. Trail runs, strength training, and consistent effort will shape your readiness and set the pace for your performance in Kasese.

“There’s a whole movement growing around running communities in Uganda, and it’s been exciting to see the energy building up toward the marathon. It’s beautiful and keeps us motivated to deliver the very best event yet,” said Denise Nazzinda, Brand Manager, Tusker Lite.

“Tusker Lite will be showing up at the different Old Boys Leagues, running clubs, and other community events to support runners and give people a chance to register early and get in the zone for the race,” she added.

Asides the amateur runners who are already prepping, the marathon also stands as a gateway for aspiring professional athletes. Scouts from top international sports brands will be present this year, on the lookout for fresh talent. This is your moment to not only run, but to be seen.
