Details have emerged surrounding the paternity of nine children presented after the death of the late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya.
According to Ssegirinya’s longtime assistant, Alex Lusswa Luwemba, DNA tests have confirmed that only four out of the nine children brought forward were biologically his. The confirmed children include Nagirinya Aaliyah, Sharifah Nagirinya, Shifrah Nagirinya, and Ivan.
“People kept coming up with claims, but I always knew it was just a matter of time. The whole situation looked suspicious, especially when women began fighting over his property even before we buried him. It was heartless,” Luwemba said.
Luwemba particularly pointed out Twahirah Akandinda Ssegirinya, a 30-year-old widow of the late MP, stating that neither of the two children she presented were a DNA match.
Another claimant was Nalongo Joy from Matugga, who, shortly after Ssegirinya’s death, alleged that he fathered her 9-month-old baby—conceived around his birthday in 2023 following his release from prison. However, DNA results later confirmed the child was not his.
He further noted that the legal process is now underway, with the family’s lawyer, Medard Lubega Ssegona, working to secure letters of administration for the four verified children, given that Ssegirinya died intestate (without a will).
