Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Joel Ssenyonyi, has graduated with a Master’s Degree in Organisational Leadership and Management from Uganda Christian University (UCU) in Mukono.
Ssenyonyi was among the graduates at UCU’s 26th graduation ceremony, where he was recognised for successfully completing his postgraduate studies.

Ssenyonyi, who represents Nakawa West in Parliament, also holds a degree in Business Statistics from Makerere University. However, he pursued a career in journalism, working for UBC and NTV Uganda before being appointed the spokesperson for People Power and later the National Unity Platform (NUP).
Reflecting on his political journey after winning the Nakawa West seat in 2021, Ssenyonyi said he joined politics to contribute to his country’s well-being and had always harboured an interest in the political sphere.
On December 22, 2023, Ssenyonyi was appointed Leader of the Opposition by Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, the leader of NUP.
