As the trial of city socialite Olimu Charles, commonly known as Sipapa, progresses, High Court officials on Monday conducted an exhibit inspection at Kabalagala Police Station.

The visit involved court officials, prosecution witnesses, and Sipapa’s legal team, who examined items allegedly recovered from the socialite’s residence at the time of his arrest in 2022.

He is currently on remand at Luzira Prison as investigations into his aggravated robbery case continue.

Among the exhibits presented were five vehicles, counterfeit gold, jewellery, car rims, and a sum of U.S. dollars, among other possessions.

Sipapa’s lawyer noted that although the vehicles were picked from various locations including his home, no documentation has been provided to verify ownership.

Sipapa is expected to return to the High Court on Wednesday, 23 July 2025, for further cross-examination regarding the exhibits.

According to court records, Sipapa is accused of involvement in multiple robbery cases in Kampala and surrounding areas between 2014 and 2022. Investigations led by the Directorate of CID in coordination with the Directorate of Forensic Services have linked him to over 12 cases.

In a prominent incident from September 2022, Sipapa was charged with the aggravated robbery of Shs1.6 billion from the home of a South Sudanese national in Bunga.
