Police in Busoga East have launched an investigation after unknown burglars broke into St. Matia Mulumba Catholic Church in Kyebando Cell, Mayuge Town Council, and made off with valuable church property.

The incident, discovered by church ushers during early preparations for mass, has left the congregation in shock. Among the stolen items were the church’s music system, musical instruments, and sacred ornaments used during services.

Fr. Allan Kamugisha, the assistant parish priest, believes the thieves might have drugged the church’s night guards to carry out the break-in unnoticed.
