Goldstar Insurance has launched the Goldstar Claims App, a user-friendly digital solution designed to simplify and speed up the insurance claims process. The app is available for free on both Android and Apple devices and promises to make filing a claim easier, faster, and more transparent for clients.

What Is the Goldstar Claims App?

The Goldstar Claims App is a mobile tool that allows clients, intermediaries, and policyholders to file and manage insurance claims directly from their phones — at any time and from any location. It eliminates paperwork, long queues, and physical visits to offices. Instead, users can submit claims, upload relevant documents, and get real-time support through the app.

According to Jay Sakaria, Goldstar’s Chief Actuary, the app features GPS functionality, allowing users to report the exact location of an incident instantly. Even in offline mode, the app stores information and automatically submits it once the user connects to Wi-Fi or mobile data.

Why It Matters

Goldstar’s CEO John Kawuma emphasised that this innovation is not just a technological upgrade — it’s a step towards redefining customer experience. “It’s secure, easy to navigate, and built with customer service at its core,” Kawuma said. He also highlighted support from the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA), which he says validates Goldstar’s commitment to improving service delivery in Uganda’s insurance industry.

Kawuma invited clients, partners, and the public to download the app and experience how Goldstar is “simplifying insurance, one claim at a time.” He stressed that the most crucial part of insurance is the claims process — and that this app is designed to make that stage more efficient and trustworthy.

“The critical stage in any claim is reporting. If you don’t report, we don’t know,” Kawuma said. “With the app, you don’t need to visit an office or search for contact numbers. Just tap and report. The app provides guided, interactive steps that lead you through the entire journey.”

Key Features of the Goldstar Claims App

Available on Android and iOS via Play Store and App Store

GPS tracking for accurate accident location reporting

Offline mode for data-saving and remote access

Document uploads for driving licences, photos, and claim forms

Multi-policy management — users can manage multiple insurance policies within one app

Step-by-step claim guidance — from reporting to follow-up

Secure and compliant with both local and international data protection standards

What Sets It Apart

According to Chief Operations Officer Enock Mudadi, Goldstar is Uganda’s largest indigenous insurance company — and their success stems from prioritising service, not size. “We treat every claim — whether Shs50,000 or Shs3 million — with the same urgency,” he said.

Mudadi added that the app will improve claim turnaround time dramatically. “Mid-level claims are cleared within five days, and simple ones like windscreen or fender benders can be processed in the shortest time possible.”

He also noted the app’s fraud detection potential. It provides real-time data on accident locations, times, and user behaviour — helping the company monitor hotspots and suspicious patterns through analytics.

Early Impact

Goldstar has already seen an 80% increase in day-one reporting, a strong indicator that clients are adapting quickly. Early reporting allows the insurer to act faster, improving customer satisfaction and reducing delays.

Still Human When Needed

While the Goldstar Claims App is the primary tool for digital claim submission, the company clarified that not all claims must be reported through the app. Physical verification may still be necessary in certain cases, and clients are encouraged to reach out via the website, office, or phone if they face difficulties using the app.

This launch isn’t just about a new app. It’s about building trust, delivering speed, and making insurance work for the people — when they need it most.

“We don’t differentiate claims by size. We care about service. The Goldstar Claims App is how we prove that,” — Enock Mudadi, Chief Operations Officer

Goldstar encourages everyone — clients, partners, and the public — to download the app and take the first step toward a smarter, faster insurance experience.
