Ugandan basketball talent Arthur Kaluma has officially taken his game to the biggest stage, signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, one of the NBA’s most storied franchises.
Kaluma earned the deal after an impressive showing in the NBA Summer League, where he played three games for the 17-time champions, averaging 12 minutes on the floor and shooting an efficient 45% from the field.
The 6’7” power forward now embarks on his professional journey following four seasons of collegiate basketball in the United States, representing Creighton, Kansas State, and finally the University of Texas. During his senior year with the Texas Longhorns, Kaluma posted solid numbers—12.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Earlier in his career, Kaluma spent two seasons at Creighton, where he reached the Elite Eight in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, before transferring to Kansas State for one season.
Beyond his U.S. college success, Kaluma has proudly represented Uganda on the international stage, competing in the 2021 AfroBasket and the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.
