Ugandan-American businesswoman Juliet Zawedde is officially off the market! The 46-year-old entrepreneur said “yes” to a marriage proposal from Tanzanian music star Bushoke in a romantic, candle-lit setting.
The beautiful moment happened on Sunday night, with a smooth saxophone serenade in the background as Bushoke went down on one knee.

The two have been quietly growing close, and the proposal sealed what many are now calling East Africa’s newest couple.

Zawedde, who recently jetted into Uganda from the US to mark her 46th birthday in grand style, held a lavish celebration at Noni Vie on July 19th, where Bushoke was among the guests.

The engagement puts to rest long-standing rumours linking Zawedde to her longtime friend and music icon Jose Chameleone. Fans had speculated for years about a possible romance between the two, fueled by their public closeness and Zawedde’s open support for the singer. Some even hoped they’d become an item — but last night’s proposal officially ends the chatter.
Before Bushoke, Juliet Zawedde was known to have dated Jonah Otim, a former Ugandan basketball star who played for Ndejje University, City Oilers, and the national team, the Silverbacks.
