Multi-Grammy Award-winning gospel legend CeCe Winans is making her highly anticipated return to Uganda as part of her More Than This Africa Tour.
Originally scheduled to take place at Kololo Independence Grounds, the concert has now been relocated to Lugogo Cricket Oval Grounds and will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
The change of venue follows a scheduling conflict, as a national state event will be hosted at Kololo during the same week. Organisers, however, remain fully committed to providing a world-class, spirit-filled experience.
Lugogo Cricket Oval was selected as the most suitable alternative, offering the space, accessibility, and atmosphere needed to make the night truly unforgettable for both fans and performers.
“I’m so excited to come and worship with you and lift the name of Jesus together on the More Than This World Tour. It’s going to be a powerful night of worship—you won’t want to miss it,” said CeCe Winans ahead of the Kampala leg of her tour.

The concert is being organised by Faith Collective, in partnership with The Usual Suspects, and is supported by leading Ugandan media and corporate brands including NBS TV, New Vision, Roke Telkom, Uganda Airlines, Power FM, and MAC Uganda/Isuzu. The evening promises to be one of worship, healing, and divine connection through music.
Tickets are available at www.cecewinans.com/tour, with prices remaining unchanged. Regular tickets are going for Shs50,000, VIP at Shs150,000, and VVIP/Golden Circle at Shs250,000. Previously purchased tickets will remain valid at the new venue.
Interview: Behind the Scenes of CeCe Winans’ Kampala Concert
Who is CeCe Winans and why is this concert such a big deal?
CeCe Winans is not only the best-selling female gospel artist of all time, but also one of the most awarded, with 15 Grammy Awards, 31 Dove Awards, and 16 Stellar Awards to her name. For decades, her music has provided a soundtrack of faith, hope, and healing to generations across the world. Despite her global acclaim, CeCe remains grounded in faith and family. She is married to her husband Alvin, and together they’ve raised two adult children and enjoy the blessing of four grandchildren. Her latest album More Than This continues to resonate in churches and homes around the world, and the Kampala concert is part of a historic tour that celebrates this powerful new body of work.
What exactly is the More Than This Tour all about?
The More Than This Tour is CeCe’s latest global tour, built around the worship experience and message of her most recent album. The Africa leg of the tour includes stops in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Kenya, and is being delivered in collaboration with Faith Collective and The Usual Suspects. This marks CeCe’s first performance in Uganda in years and is expected to be one of the tour’s most memorable stops.
Who is behind the organisation of this event?
The Kampala concert is being spearheaded by The Usual Suspects, a Uganda-based creative powerhouse specialising in talent management, event production, and public relations. Since its establishment in 2013, the team has grown into one of the most trusted producers of high-impact gospel events in the region, working with both local and international brands to deliver professional and spiritually enriching experiences.
Why was the venue changed from Kololo to Lugogo Cricket Oval?
The switch became necessary after an emergency state function was scheduled at Kololo during the same week as the concert. Rather than risk a compromised experience, the organising team made the strategic decision to move to Lugogo Cricket Oval, which offers not just sufficient space but also the right security, accessibility, and logistical setup to ensure a smooth and uplifting event.
Will there be any changes to the date or ticket prices?
There will be no changes. The concert will still take place on Thursday, August 28, 2025, and ticket prices remain exactly as announced. All tickets previously purchased will be honoured at the new venue.
What time does the show start and what’s the programme like?
Gates will open at 2:00 PM to allow for a relaxed and smooth entry. Ugandan support acts will begin ministering from 7:00 PM, with CeCe Winans expected to take the stage at 8:30 PM. The event will wrap up by 10:30 PM to ensure attendees can head home safely and prepare for work the next day. The programme will run on time, so early arrival is highly encouraged.
How is security and parking being handled at Lugogo Cricket Oval?
Security will be tight and well-coordinated, with full deployment by the Uganda Police and its partner security agencies in and around the venue. Every effort is being made to guarantee safety and ease of access. Parking has been arranged according to ticket category and will be monitored to ensure a smooth experience for all guests.
What can fans expect from the Kampala concert?
This concert is more than a musical performance—it’s an encounter with God. Fans can expect a world-class show from one of gospel music’s most iconic voices, along with powerful ministry from top Ugandan gospel talents including Anna Makula, Proclaim, and a surprise guest artist. From start to finish, the evening will be soaked in worship, excellence, and unity. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or hearing CeCe Winans for the first time, this promises to be a moment of open heavens and lasting impact.
