The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has suspended Salt Television, a born-again Christian station, from airing its morning show Omusunsuzi, citing repeated violations of broadcasting standards.

The programme, which runs on weekdays from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, is co-hosted by veteran singer Full Figure and actor Charles James Ssenkubuge. According to UCC, the show has frequently featured abusive language, inappropriate content, and unprofessional behaviour from its presenters.

In a press release, the regulator noted that Omusunsuzi airs during family viewing hours when children are likely to be watching, potentially exposing them to harmful content.

UCC has directed Salt TV to:

  • Immediately suspend the airing of Omusunsuzi.
  • Provide a written response to the complaints raised.
  • Submit recordings of all episodes broadcast between 1 August and 12 September 2025.
  • Avail the programme’s scripts for review.

The Commission emphasised that all broadcasters must uphold professional and ethical standards, particularly during shows that attract young audiences.
