On Sunday, September 28, 2025, Mestil Hotel came alive as Grammy Award-winning jazz icon- Kenny G treated music fans to a special performance dubbed ‘One Night Only with Kenny G.’
The concert, that had I&M Bank Uganda as the official bank partner, drew mostly a premium crowd, made up of jazz enthusiasts, corporate executives, diplomats, and high-profile guests, who gathered for an intimate evening of world-class music.
Having performed in Nairobi a day earlier, Kenny G brought the same energy and elegance to Kampala, delivering a flawless set that blended smooth jazz classics with soulful improvisations.
Donning his signature blue suit, Kenny G opened his performance with Loving You, against a mainly blue-lit backdrop, setting the tone for a soulful and visually striking evening.
The crowd leaned in, soaking in the very first notes. It was clear from the start that this would be more than just a show. It was an experience.
He gave Ugandans a taste of his signature technique, holding onto notes longer than expected. It was a remarkable display, especially from an artist performing well into his sixties.
From songs like Silhouette, The Moment, Havana, and My Heart Will Go On– his version of Celine Dion’s hit, Kenny G had the audience completely drawn in. Many swayed gently to the music, fully immersed in the sound.
With each song, Kenny G reminded the crowd why he is still one of the most recognizable names in music. It was a performance that lived up to every expectation and left the audience mesmerized from start to finish.
I&M Bank, who also partnered with another music event earlier in the same week, continued to cement their reputation- as curators of diverse and memorable experiences, through events like ‘One Night Only with Kenny G,’ for both their clients and the broader community.
“At I&M Bank, we believe in creating meaningful moments for our clients through experiences that inspire, connect, and entertain. Partnering with ‘One Night Only with Kenny G’ was a reflection of that commitment,” said Annette Nakiyaga, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at I&M Bank.
The evening was a true celebration of artistry, technical perfection and sheer emotion. It was a performance that will be remembered by all who experienced it.
