Gulu City was a spectacle of music, dance, and flavour on Saturday as Bell ObaFest launched its regional pre-festival activations in grand fashion at Kweyo Village. The vibrant celebration brought together hundreds of revellers for an unforgettable evening of food, music, and Uganda’s favourite heritage beer.

At the heart of the mini-ObaFest experience were the newest trendsetters in Uganda’s beer scene — Bell Citrus and Bell Honey — two refreshing variants that gave partygoers in Gulu a new appreciation for flavour and fun, complete with exclusive offers throughout the night.

The energy soared from the very start, with top DJs Drey, Imos, and Frisco keeping the crowd on their feet with electrifying mixes and chart-topping hits. As the night heated up, Gulu’s own stars Eddy Wizzy and Free Boy took the stage, igniting massive cheers before fan-favourite Kapeke, the hitmaker behind Kaba, Akasanyalaze, Shuu, and Swiririri, wrapped up the performances to thunderous sing-alongs.
Speaking at the event, Lillian Kansiime, the Bell Lager Brand Manager, said the introduction of the new flavours marked a bold new chapter for the brand.

“Bell Citrus and Bell Honey are not just new variants; they’re a movement redefining creativity, flavour, and enjoyment in the beer category,” she said. “This year’s Bell ObaFest celebrates flavour for your flavour — a true reflection of the uniqueness and energy of our consumers.”

As midnight approached, DJ Baby Love took over the decks, spinning an unforgettable set that kept the party alive under the glowing northern skies — a perfect expression of Bell Lager’s timeless message of togetherness and celebration.

With such an explosive start in Gulu, all eyes now turn to Arua, which will host the next ObaFest regional activation on October 25. The excitement will then culminate in the third edition of the main Bell ObaFest in Kampala on November 15, promising an even bigger celebration of music, food, and Uganda’s unmistakable beer culture.

This year’s edition, themed “Flavour for Your Flavour,” promises a fresh twist on how Ugandans experience beer — with Bell Citrus and Bell Honey leading the charge in redefining enjoyment the Bell way.
