The countdown is on. As the Bikole Masavu campaign enters its final stretch, anticipation is on a high note across Uganda. By end of October, one lucky participant will walk away with the grand prize of 50 million shillings, capping off months of nationwide giveaways and celebrations.

The campaign, by Premier Distilleries Limited (PDL), has lit up towns and trading centres across the country, rewarding loyal customers with functional prizes that have transformed lives of some of their consumers.

To date, the campaign has attracted over 570,000 participants, with an impressive 230,000 winners already walking away with prizes.

This past weekend, the excitement reached Mubende District, where crowds gathered at Asaba Highway Market for yet another thrilling giveaway. Among the day’s biggest winners was Lawrence Omoding, a private security guard in Mubende town, who could hardly believe it when he received a call informing him he had won a brand-new motorcycle.

“I thought it was a joke, my friends are always trying to play games,” Omoding said with a smile. “But here I am, standing next to my new bike. This means so much to me and my family.”

Another crowd favorite, Florence Nagawa, a market vendor at Asaba Highway Market, was the lucky winner of a Hisense flat-screen television after a random draw. “I can’t believe it. My children are going to enjoy TV shows from home now,” she said with joy.

Speaking during the lively handover ceremony, Godfrey Sserutta, Head of Sales at Premier Distilleries Limited, said the campaign has been an amazing experience, getting to meet the customers who have supported them for years.

“PDL has been part of Ugandans’ lives for 25 years. Bikole Masavu is our way of saying thank you. Our mission in all this is to give back to the community, the people who have supported us through the years,” Sserutta said.

Sserutta however cautioned the audience against consuming illicit alcohol as it is harmful to their health and further encouraged them to drink responsibly byknowing their alcohol intake limits, never drinking and driving and alwaysmaking sure that alcohol is enjoyed in moderation and in the right environment.

With the grand prize announcement just weeks away, the excitement continues to build. One name will soon be drawn and called upon as the ultimate winner of Shs50 million. The Bikole Masavu campaign has been PDL’s way of celebrating 25 years in business by rewarding loyal customers with life-changing prizes like boda bodas, tuk-tuks, televisions, mobile money, and airtime.
