Musician Vinka, real name Nakiyingi Veronica Lugya, has broken her silence on claims of favouritism within her record label, Swangz Avenue.
Speaking during a recent television interview, Vinka dismissed the rumours suggesting that some artistes under the label receive more attention and promotion than others.
She explained that at the start of every year, each Swangz Avenue artiste submits an individual plan outlining their musical goals, release schedule, and promotional strategy. According to her, all major decisions—such as song releases and project timing—are guided by these pre-agreed plans rather than bias or impulse.
“People have become a problem to us,” Vinka said. “They keep saying one of us is being favoured more than the others, but that’s not true. Everyone has their moment to shine. When the year begins, we each set our own plans, and that’s what determines when you see us active.”
Vinka’s comments come amid growing public speculation that the label promotes certain artistes more aggressively than others—a claim she firmly insists is baseless.
