Singer Dax Vibez has taken aim at Eddy Kenzo, accusing him of using his position as president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) to sideline artists who support the opposition.

Speaking during an interview with BBS TV, Dax Vibez — real name Ivan Bugembe Sentamu — criticised Kenzo for allegedly refusing to extend financial help to musicians aligned with the National Unity Platform (NUP).

According to Dax, the money being distributed by the federation originates from the government and therefore belongs to all taxpayers, not just supporters of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.

“He is completely misinformed,” Dax Vibez said. “That money comes from taxpayers — including those who support NUP and those who don’t. As president of the federation, Kenzo should serve every artist equally. Maybe he doesn’t understand the responsibility that comes with that position. It seems the power has overwhelmed him.”

His comments came shortly after Kenzo appeared in a televised interview where he reportedly admitted that the funds given to the musicians’ federation were meant only for artists loyal to the NRM.

Kenzo added that since the government had provided the money, the federation’s members were expected to show their support in return.

He also noted that artists who had joined the opposition — such as Pallaso, who recently associated himself with NUP — would not benefit from the federation’s financial support.

Kenzo’s remarks have stirred heated debate in the entertainment industry, with several musicians and fans accusing him of turning the federation into a political tool.
