Preparations for the nomination of parliamentary aspirants are in full swing across district headquarters ahead of the October 22–23, 2025 nomination exercise.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has confirmed that it is fully ready to conduct a smooth and transparent process, saying all logistics have been procured and sufficient staff deployed to support the two-day nationwide activity.
As nomination day draws closer, both the EC headquarters in Kampala and district offices have become hives of activity. Aspirants are racing to complete documentation, verify bank payments, and secure their official nomination slots before the deadline.
At the EC headquarters, long queues of hopeful candidates could be seen presenting their bank slips for verification — a key step before being issued with clearance receipts for nomination.
According to the Commission, all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure efficiency and fairness throughout the exercise. With hundreds of candidates expected to present their papers across the country, the EC says it is confident that the nomination process will be conducted in an orderly and credible manner as Uganda edges closer to the 2026 general elections.
