The SMACK League, powered by Guinness, returns this Sunday, October 26 for Matchday Three of the regular season at the IUEA Sports Ground in Kansanga. Kampala.
This weekend’s edition will have a special Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drive as the SMACK League partners with the Kuliva Foundation to support a clothing donation campaign. The initiative encourages fans, players, and attendees to bring along pre-loved or pre-owned clothes which will be collected on-site and later donated to underprivileged communities.
According to David Kawooya, the SMACK League Chief Marketing Officer, the initiative reflects the league’s growing role beyond sport.
“We are using the power of community and sport to make a difference in people’s lives. The Kuliva Foundation partnership gives us a chance to extend our reach and positively impact others. We encourage everyone attending to come with a generous heart and something to give,” he said.
The CSR drive adds heart to what is expected to be a colorful carnival-themed matchday. The dress code calls for floral shirts, with vibrant carnival music and high-energy performances setting the tone for the day. Guinness will be flowing throughout the experience.
On the pitch, there is plenty to look forward to as teams battle to shape their season’s direction.
Knights and Vikings will open the day’s action, both searching for their first wins of the campaign. Bushmen face Zuluz in another early kickoff, a clash of contrasting fortunes between the third and ninth-placed sides in Pool A.
Past champions Window and Zimbaz go head-to-head as each looks to recover from disappointing results on Matchday Two. Spartans will be eager to secure their first ever league win when they meet Lycans, while Elite’s hot form will be tested by defending champions Alks in what promises to be a blockbuster encounter. League elders Mama Teo Legends take on OutKasts, both riding on confidence after wins in their previous outings.
Vendorz who are also the matchday hosts face Tsunamiz in the inter-pool fixture, while Cyclones meet Mafiaz with both sides determined to return to winning ways. Gladiators will look to maintain their perfect start against Vulcanz, and Block Owners face Devilz as each side hunts for a first victory of the season. Phantoms will take on Pirates in a battle of unbeaten teams where one perfect record will finally fall.
Away from the football, fans can expect a rich mix of side attractions including e-sports racing, boxing, ludo, and other fun challenges.
The entertainment lineup features DJ LB, DJ Ashaba, alongside a surprise live act.
Speaking about the league, Mercy Atwongyeire, Project Manager for Premium Beer at Uganda Breweries Limited, said Guinness connects naturally with the energy and community spirit that define the SMACK League.
“Events like the SMACK League bring people together in a way that truly reflects the spirit of Guinness. This edition is even more special with the clothing drive and carnival theme, showing how sport and community can come together to create something meaningful and memorable,” she said.
With a mix of CSR, carnival vibes, football, e-sports, and Guinness, Matchday Three of the SMACK League promises a day full of colour, competition, and community spirit.
